CHATSWORTH, Calif. – June 7, 2010 – Sexy Hair donated $2,500 worth of hair-care products plus styling services recently to benefit “Dress to Remember,” an annual event held by the charity “LA’s Prom Closet.” The nonprofit offers new and gently used prom dresses and accessories at no charge to high school seniors who otherwise could not afford them. Sexy Hair educators Nadirah Volpe and Marc Mapile offered hairstyling tips, demonstrations and expertise.

Now in its third year, “Dress to Remember” was created to help young women believe in themselves, overcome obstacles and make good decisions about their futures. The organization holds the “shopping” event in time for prom season, complete with fashion advisors to assist with clothing selection and seamstresses to tailor and press each gown. Motivational speakers lead confidence-building workshops in everything from grooming and etiquette to careers and life goals.
“My LA's Prom Closet experience was fantastic,” said Mapile. “The workshops are such valuable tools, not just for prom, but for life in general. I think every girl deserves an opportunity to feel great about herself — and of course, to feel sexy."
